Here is our situation -
> We have a resigning employee
> He created many reports (about 50)
> While waiting for his replacement, I need the reports he created in ServiceNow
> We need to delete his account as per company policy once he leaves
We tried setting his report to 'Global' and I am able to see it. But I am afraid that once we delete his account, the reports he created will disappear as well.
Thanks

As an admin, you should be able to see and access his reports. I'd recommend you inactive his account, versus deleting it so you don't lose any task history.
Either way, the reports will not be removed.

As mentioned, it's not a good idea to delete accounts, simply mark them inactive for auditing purposes.
If you're worried about objects the user owns, consider editing them then making a copy so that you're marked as the creator, changing visibility on these reports to suit. The original reports can then be archived off or deleted as you see fit.
I don't believe the reports will be deleted - but removing the account means any information about the original creator will be lost.
Have you tried this out on one of your testbeds first to gauge what happens?
