LifeCycle Stages - Dashboard Filter

I have spent numerous hours on trying to first understand the build of CMDB LifeCycle Stage/Status fields and then try using them in the reporting, mainly looking ahead to Platform Analytics (NEXT Experience). Has anyone tried creating a Dashboard with CMDB data and applying LifeCycle Stage filter to it. If you have you probably ran into the same issues I have. If you did find a solution PLEASE let me know.

 

My analysis shows that the way the LifeCycle Stage/Status was designed and implemented ... works on forms and lists, although you cannot edit them in the list view due to dependencies, ok that another pain point. My issue is on the Dashboard when creating a filter, there is a conflict between passing a sys_id of the reference field and its Display Value. 

 

I am hoping that ServiceNow dev team is reading this and can address it. We are trying to move to CSDM 4.0 and this one is not letting us.

 

 I am testing it in my PDI - Washington DC.

Hi Dima, it looks like there is a bug that doesn't let you filter (due to this reference field has key as a name, not standard sys_id - the filter doesn't apply). You can create a case task to be able to track when defect will be fixed or if is critical ask to have it backported in older version.

I did open a case CS7228582 on 2024-03-18 and this is what was said.

As 2024-10-14 there are no other communications, though I believe it's being tracked on an internal PBI.

I have not had the time to go back to it, unfortunately. We are holding back on converting to Platform Analytics and this is one of the reasons. I wish I had more on it. I will try to find time to go and check with support again to see what's going on. I am actually surprised that no one else raised this as a concern. I urge you to open a ticket with support on this issue as well.
