Platform analytics || Dashboard migration from core UI to Platform analytics

We are preparing to migrate from core UI to Platform analytics around 2500 Dashboards.

Should we do it now? or we should we wait for the major upgrade we are planning in month of May to upgrade to australia first and then migrate dashbaords?

HI @ankita sanghani

It depends on whether something big will be updated in that release, ideally you should go with that.

Hi @ankita sanghani ,

In general it is very much about two things. What is coming for the upgrade - anything that you need to wait for? And then off course the OCM part which is very important when migrating.

If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.

My thoughts

-> Wait till Australia release and then migrate

-> in next couple of months you can check which dashboards are absolutely required and can perform some clean-up

-> with this you only migrate those that are relevant and don't invest much time in migrating and fixing 2500 Dashboards

see the attached pdf

Hi @ankita sanghani

That’s a valid question, and I’m happy to share my thoughts since we are almost on the same page with our client.

You currently have around 2,500 dashboards. This is the right time to review them and verify whether all 2,500 are still valid, or if there’s an opportunity to remove some.

The same applies to reports. If there are 2,500 dashboards, I assume the report count is also high. We should take time to review which reports are actually used and identify those that can be marked inactive or deleted. This will help ensure that only valuable and relevant content moves forward.

Now, regarding what to do next:

I recommend starting now. If we wait for the next release, which is expected around May, the initial days of that release may not be stable, and we could face issues. My suggestion is to begin now—create a plan, group dashboards and reports into batches, and start migrating them gradually.

This is not just a migration exercise. We also need to check overall alignment and data accuracy, as there are existing issues where widget alignment and values are not correct. Starting with a stable release will allow us to move forward more smoothly.
