Platform Analytics Indicator Source Frequency = Hourly

Hello SNOW Folks,

I'm reaching out to seek your advice regarding an issue I'm experiencing with the missing HOURLY Frequency option for an Indicator Source (PA Xanadu).

My requirement is to develop a KPI that measures the number of new cases created Hourly, which involves creating  new Indicator. Upon reviewing existing Indicator Sources, I identified Cases.New as suitable template; however, I need to set the 'Valid for Frequency' field to Hourly, which currently isn't available as an option in the dropdown.

Has anyone encountered this limitation before, and if so, could you please share insights or suggestions on how you've addressed it?

many thanks in advance

Brani Markovic

Hi @BraniM,

why would you create a PA job on an hourly basis? This is in general not what PA is build for and properly not the best idea according to performance.

If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.

Best regards

As I’m still relatively new to Platform Analytics, the approach I initially proposed was my first attempt at addressing our requirement. However, I’m open to better alternatives and would appreciate your guidance.

Here is a summary of our requirement:
We need to create a KPI that presents the number of new cases per hour, broken down by case source. Additionally, we would like to trigger a notification if the number of cases in any hour is zero. The goal is to establish a monitoring mechanism that alerts the Support Team in near real-time about potential system issues.

Since you mentioned that Platform Analytics may not be ideally suited for this type of hourly monitoring and alerting, could you kindly recommend a more appropriate ServiceNow product or approach that can fulfill this need?

Thank you in advance for your support and suggestions.

Best regards,
