service portal usage reporting

Has anyone set up reporting to track service portal use? If so, what reporting do you have and how did you do it?

have you seen 'usage overview' module under service portal

it has bunch of OOB reports based on 'sp_log' table.

Sadly, my in-house team doesn't want to grant access beyond the admin role - Likely because this log/table is incredibly HUGE and terribly performance impacting. Having type ahead active makes this log nearly useless.
