Has anyone used (and has examples) analytics to preform ServiceNow license management?
Maybe a dashboard, that shows what is owned, what is in use, users with roles that have not logged in, in over 90 days?
I am trying to get out of using reports, then excel to find this data and make a case to buy Analytics.

If the objective is to acquire PA
SN license management probably isn't the best use case for acquisition of Performance Analytics. I think there's some way more powerful ones just looking at existing processes and how you currently report on them. Happy to help you build those use cases, as PA is probably my favorite SN feature in the last 5 years.

If the objective is to control SN licensing via PA
It would be easy enough to log roled users that haven't logged in for 30/60/90+ days, but the savings there probably wouldn't equal the PA spend.
The real difficult bit would be determining the role usage, since any user can have multiple roles, and you don't distinguish between roles at login. Make sense?

Robert, thanks.We are looking to acquire the tool, I was just trying to give them one more reason.
On the license reporting/dashboard, It is some what complicated by a custom app, multiple divisions that have to be back billed for usage and other factors.
Its funny I thought Remedy licensing was hard.

Yeah... I've been dabbling with a "Use Case" reporting mechanism that tracks "why" someone uses ServiceNow beyond just role. Its been on the back burner for a while though.

Are you looking for all your Software Management, or just SN?
I think maybe the new Software Asset Management product maybe a good fit.
