shared visualization issue

I shared a dashboard and a visualization to a specific user, but the user get following ACL error when viewing the dashboard

 

"You do not have the required permissions to view this content. Access is restricted by the report_view ACL. Please contact your administrator for assistance"

 

what is causing this issue?

Hey @Pat Paluri I'll pop some steps to follow here:

  • Double check in the dashboard that it is shared (in case you set it but it didn't save!)
  • If you have the permissions, use Access Analyzer to check why the user isn't able to access it (possibly missing permissions for the table) - really useful!
  • Access analyzer should reveal the issue. The error you shared says it's a permissions error and it will show the roles needed
