Why are reporting headings displaying differently for the same report

Hello experts

I feel like this is likely to be a simple answer and I am frustrated that I can't work this out for myself, however here goes.

There is an existing list report (grouped) being displayed on a dashboard.  A user with report admin access has edited the report to display different columns.

Her display and others we have checked, have not changed to reflect the new/re-ordered column headings.  They display correctly for me (admin).

I have checked her usual list view settings and she is using the default list layout which is different to the view she is seeing in the report.

Can you advise what is governing her report view and whether it can be changed to reflect the column headings she has selected in the report?

I think, when the user edited the report, it created another version of the report, which is currently visible to her. Verify the sysid of the report, which will be on the address bar. It should be different.

The reason it happens is, if it is a global or group report and a user changes it, it is a personalized change and should only apply to her. So it should create a new report of her own.

Same happens with Dashboards or homepage, when a user tries to add or remove a report in the homepage, it creates a personal version of the homepage and doesn't modify the global homepage, because it is used by other people as well.

Thank you Sanjiv, I will check the sysids, however the issue is that the person who modified the report CANNOT see the modifications, however the system admin can.

Hi christine

Were you able to find the cause and fix this issue?

Thanks

Hello Archie

No, unfortunately we couldn't find a cause.  I was not able to work out how to get the sys_id of one report in a tab of a dashboard to do the comparison.

We have since however, added a field to the task table and modified the task list view.  This in turn modified all personal list views.  New default list views were created for all our lists and that seems to have fixed the issue.
