Why did save option disappear when editing your own reports?

I am able to create and save a new report, but if I go to edit that same report it only gives me the option to "Insert" or "Insert and Stay".  The save option is no longer there.  Also from a dashboard I used to be able to click the pencil to edit the report for that widget and now the pencil is no longer there.  In fact the box that would normally say "Save" is now just a down arrow with no text.  When pressing the down arrow the Insert options show in the drop down menu. I have tried this in both the new and old interface.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Sounds like an access issue.  Have you logged out of your instance and browser and tried a fresh attempt?  If that doesn't work, you may need a full admin to check your account, make sure you're still in the groups you should be in.

Hi,

There are some roles that you should look at.

1. report_admin: Can manage, share, publish, and schedule all reports.
2. report_global: Can manage reports that are shared with everyone (listed in Global).
3. report_group: Can manage and share reports that are shared with them (listed in Group).
4. report_publisher: Can make reports available on a public page.
5. report_scheduler: Can Schedule a report to be emailed, including reports they cannot manage.
6. itil , report_user: Can create and view reports that have been shared with them.

Check against these roles and grant them to user.

For pencil icon, try making that user as the "Owner" of dashboard or give him "pa_admin" role.

Navigate to Performance Analytics --> Dashboard Administration.

Hi,

Check if those reports/dashboards are in some specific scope. That may be the reason you may not be able to Save (as its in different scope) or see the pencil icon but you can do an Insert or Insert & Stay i.e. is to create a copy regardless of scope.

Also, check if those reports are published. Though this should not have any difference but to ensure that if non-admnis try to Save it works as the report/dashboard may not be shared with those role set.
