For anyone who already used the "Data Privacy" Anonymization feature.
Does the 'anonymized' records keep the same sys_id as production after the clone happens?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi @natashamachado,
The Anonymization feature runs after the clone brings the data over. It essentially just goes through and updates the specific fields you configured (like masking the email or name) on the existing record. When we had a few ServiceNow Solution Consultants presenting this feature for us it was actually the main selling point over writing your own cleanup scripts or excluding tables. It will keep all your reference relationships (like Caller or Assigned to) intact so you can still test properly, just with scrambled PII.
✅ If you found my answer helpful or correct in any way, please don't forget to mark it to help future readers! 👍
Kind regards,
