Hello @Chandrakanth V
My recommendation is to use any online free tool or if any that your employer owns to convert png to jpg and then reduce the dpi as well because ServiceNow is not going to do that.
Here are the steps with which you can change the Service Portal background image:
1. Open portal and then ctrl click (windows) or control + command and click (mac) on the image (it is actually a container holding the image) you want to change. Click Edit Container Background:
2. Upload the jpg and save.
3. Go to your update sets and under customer updates (Related list) you will see the latest record for Type "Container". Here is an example show below:
4. To find out this container is associated with which portal page (adhere the step#1 again) and click Instance in Page Editor:
You will find out the origin page which has container (index is the page in my example) as shown below. Click on the page to see it's details:
You can navigate to All > Service Portal > Pages to browse this page.
Hope that helps!

1. To change the logo in your case "my EcoLab", once you have the Jpeg image go to 'Basic configuration ui16' (under application navigator) and add the image here
2. Open 'Service Portal Configurations'> Click Branding Editor > Under Quick Setup (left side) > Under logo> Upload your new image.
Please mark it as helpful or correct if it helped you resolve the issue or worked for you.
