Adobe has confirmed that usage data for Adobe SaaS products is not available through the standard SAM Pro integration.
What alternatives does ServiceNow recommend for collecting and recording usage information in SAM Pro for Adobe SaaS products?
Are there best practices or supported methods (e.g., manual updates, custom integrations, API-based solutions) that can help maintain accurate compliance and optimization reporting?

Hi @AlejandraV60132 ,
could you please share any details about this conversation with Adobe about SAM Pro and your personal definition of Adobe SaaS usage? At the moment the tool is able to distinguish between Single Apps and CC recommendations based on „usage data“ from the portal. Some kind of usage/login details seems to be available to create these recommendations.
if there are any additional usage details available in the portal, but not processed by SAMP, you should raise a IDEA portal case and of course import and update this data into the instance would be helpful.
Thanks, Dennis

Thank you, dreinhardt!
Adobe support indicated that for “Last Used” data, “you need to check with your identity system, we from Adobe don’t’ have any option to provide that information.”
Are you saying that SAM Pro is receiving usage information from the Adobe portal at the moment? What type of usage information?

Hey Dennis - the usage data in question comes from inventory tools that can collect the Last Activity Date of the installed Adobe product. This is how the recommendations in SAM Pro are calculated.

Hi,
ServiceNow provides a solution for tracking Adobe SaaS usage OOTB in SAM Pro, but it all depends on what inventory system you are using because the solution relies on getting the last activity date. SCCM/ACC provides this, but Intune doesn't. For CC All Apps, the scheduled job (Optimize Adobe Subscriptions) looks for installed Adobe components (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc) on each discovered device and pulls the last activity date (ACC/SCCM only) for each installed component and uses the most recent date that a component is used and checks this date against the Adobe CC All Apps reclamation rule.
Note that when we've implemented this, we've had to modify the script executed by the scheduled job to make it work properly, so it can be a bit tricky. 🙂
