Appropriate use of Subscription/User Subscription

Are there any suggestions on when to use the License Type - Metric Group - License Metric selections of 

Subscription-Common-Per User  vs  Subscription-Subscription-User Subscription. Is the use of either pre-determined by software models?

Usually user subscription is used for subscription type software. good example here is Office 365. The common per user is used where per user entitlement is being followed. Also, it it not specific to a particular publisher

Can you provide an example for the Common>per user metric?

User Subscription means that you need to get the information of users from the integration such as MS portal or Adobe Console.
