I understand that the best practice for assigning licenses to users or devices using Catalog Items is to install the com.snc.procurement plugin and use the Source Request button in sc_request > sc_task to assign them.
I also understand that as a result, a record with the assignment is created in alm_entitlement_user or alm_entitlement_asset.
<Question 1>
When transferring licenses [from User A to User B] or [from Device X to Device Y], what kind of operation is the best practice to perform OOTB?
<Question 2>
Similarly, what is the best practice for removing a license from a user or device?

Hi @nagaryu,
Q2: The best is to establish a new process to remove licenses from users based on a catalog item or other kind of request, which can be executed b the enduser or any other person who is permitted to remove licenses, e.g. off boarding.
Q1: I recommend to split the process and do not establish a „transfer process“.
old user should raise the removal process and new user should use the established sourcing request and SAM manager can allocate the removed license from the old user.
best, Dennis

Hi @dreinhardt ,
Thank you for your confirmation and reply.
I see, so the transfer and delete functions are not included OOTB.
I also realized that it is a best practice not to use transfer.
Thank you for checking!
