Discovery Models not capturing Product Edition

Theres a DMAP for MobaXterm where Edition is Professional, however, the Discovery model does not have the Edition.  When I checked from the users, this version installed in their machine is Professional Edition.

Without the Edition, it will be hard for us to see if the installed machine is Professional or Home

Hi @GillianJoyB,

verify whether the raw software inventory collected by your discovery source actually includes the edition information.

During software normalization, ServiceNow uses the discovered software attributes together with the Content Library to populate the normalized fields on the Software Discovery Model.

If the discovery source doesn't provide sufficient information, or the discovered attributes don't fully match the normalization content, the Edition field may remain blank.

check:

  • Whether your instance is using the latest Content Library updates.
  • Whether the corresponding DMAP has any additional matching criteria that must be met before the Edition is populated.

If the raw discovery data clearly identifies the software as Professional Edition, but the normalized Software Discovery Model still doesn't populate the Edition, I'd recommend opening a case with ServiceNow Support.

They can verify whether this is a Content Library issue or whether the normalization content for MobaXterm needs to be reviewed.
