Hello friends,
I need to transfer some entitlements from Production to Dev. What will be the right approach ?
The entitlement upload template has many fields which the alm_license table does not have. So can I go with exporting the entitlements in csv/xml format from Production and then importing to Dev through data source/transform map.
Please suggest which can be the correct way to avoid future issues if any.
Thank you for your time and suggestions.

Hi,
In these scenarios,
Cloning is the one of the options, it is free, easy and automated.
There is another paid plugin, which is Instance Data Replication (servicenow.com).
Thanks and Regards,

Hello Saurabh,
Thank you for your time.
If I go with import sets. What can be the risk ?
I am importing 1000 records.
The concern for me here is : The entitlement upload template has many fields. When uploaded the data on first instance, we used the process for entitlement template, removed all the errors. Set up content library.
Now, I want to move these entitlements from Prod to Dev. I do not have the entitlements data to perform entitlement template import.
Can I just export the entitlements to Excel and import them to Dev using import sets ?
What can be risk in this approach ?
Thank you .

Hi,
The risk is the reference field data. If that data is not present on the target instance, you might loose some relationship etc.
If you will take care of all reference/list type field data present on target instance, you can go ahead with import set as well.
Thanks and Regards,
