Hi Team,
I’m currently working on a Software EOL workflow in ServiceNow and facing two related issues:
All subtasks are Closed Complete, but the parent task (Assess IT architecture impact) remains in Work in Progress and does not auto-close or progress the workflow.
In addition, although the State values (Open, Work in Progress, Closed Complete) exist under System Definition → Choice Lists, they are not visible in the State dropdown on the form.
We’ve checked:
- Subtasks are all closed correctly
- State choices exist in the system
- Workflow is stuck at the same stage
Has anyone experienced this before or can advise:
- What might prevent the parent task from updating automatically?
- Why would State values exist but not show on the form?
