Hello,
I am new in my SAM role and my company is working to mature our SAM Pro implementation, but we have limited contract and sales order data for a large portion of our software inventory. Software was historically purchased through various vendors and credit cards, with little tracking.
We have good visibility into installs via SCCM, Intune, Absolute, Rapid7, and some SaaS tools—so we can see install counts, but we’re missing entitlement data to track license rights, usage, and spend.
I’m currently gathering data from procurement and product owners, but progress is slow.
My Questions:
• What are best practices for handling entitlement gaps in SAM Pro?
• How do others reconcile installs with limited purchase data?
• Are there interim strategies in ServiceNow to flag risk or estimate usage without full entitlements?
