How to configure ACC (MID Less) for SAM Pro

Hi All,

We have a requirement to configure ACC for endpoint (laptop/desktop) software discovery for SAM Pro, as we do not have SCCM, JAMF, Intune, or similar tools available for endpoint software discovery.

Could someone please let us know the prerequisites and implementation steps required for this configuration?

To use Agent Client Collector (ACC) for SAM Pro software discovery (MID Server-less), the high-level prerequisites and implementation steps are:

Prerequisites

• Install the required ACC and SAM Pro plugins.
• Verify your ServiceNow release supports ACC software inventory for SAM Pro.
• Configure the ACC Controller.
• Ensure endpoints have network connectivity to your ServiceNow instance.
• Deploy the ACC agent to the target Windows/macOS endpoints.

Steps

1. Configure the ACC Controller.
2. Install and register the ACC agent on the endpoints.
3. Enable the Software Inventory capability/policy for ACC.
4. Verify that software inventory is being collected from the endpoints.
5. Confirm that Software Installation records are created in ServiceNow.
6. Run Normalization and verify the software is correctly reconciled in SAM Pro.

Can we use ACC-V for the Endpoint as well ? As we dont have DEX ACC subscription available. 

If yes, do we still need MID server ?
