How to handle language packs

Hi team,

I have a scenario where language packs also considered as separate softwrae installation. For example, for a german user he has both english & German version of softwrae. This should be considered as 1 install but system is considering it as 2 install.

How to handle this scenario using SAM Pro capabilities?

Hello @gvk ,

  1. You can Create normalization rules to recognize both the English and German versions of the software as the same product. This will ensure that they are both associated with the same software model in your system.

  2. In your software models, you can specify that multiple installations of this software on a single device only count as a single installation. This can be done by setting the "Count installs per" field to "Device" for that particular software model.

  3. Run a reconciliation after making these changes to update your compliance calculations.

Thanks

Thank you @Amarjeet Pal  for the response.

It is mapping to the single softwrae model but the problem is that it is counting as 2 licenses if user has English and German.

I can't see the field "Count installs per" field on Software model table

My bad @gvk replied from different account.

Could you try creating a suite and check once .

  1. Navigate to Software Asset > Administration > Software Suites.
  2. Click New to create a new software suite.
  3. Fill out the form:
    • Name: Suitable name
    • Suite Models: Add both English and German versions of your software here.
  4. Click Submit.

    Please follow the documentation :
