How to reclaim unmetered software in SAM Pro

Hi ,

We are looking to find best possible solution for reclaiming unmetered software which includes SaaS, On Prem and users tied to global groups. How can we build a catalog to cater all types of software and make sure allocations are revoked.

Thanks!

Hi  @MercBuilding ,

Catalog may not be a best option to revoke software allocation, rather you can make use of automation or use reclamation rules to do it automatically for you.

I hope this helps.

Hi @MercBuilding ,

you‘re talking about different type of software your want to reclaim, but no usage data is available, correct?

What kind of SaaS software is it? For all SaaS which is use based you should try to get last login etc. for each user from the portal

on-prem , what inventory tool do you use? The top tool are all able to gather usage data (SCCM, Tanium, ACC-V)

AD user groups, please share a few more details about this apps managed by the groups.

In general, for everything you can’t measure - limit the access to 6 or 12 months and the user must request it again after this time incl. a new manager approval

 best, Dennis

Use SCCM to collect the workstation’s last usage or last login date and use CSD 2.0 in conjunction with this data to revoke unused licenses.
