Hey,
We have windows server datacenter 2022 where it consuming license for few decommissioned on-premises servers. Ideally it should not consume licenses as their install status and operational status is retired but when i run reconcilliation, still it is not removed from license consumption.
Is there any way to remove decommissioned server from license consumption ?

@Sonakshi Priya1 can u pls check the last discovered date for this CI? Ideally it should not be discovered, as it is not on network. If its on network and being discovered then irrespective of the status it should be licensable. Let us know.

Hi @Sonakshi Priya1,
the business rule "Remove Installs For Retired/Stolen CI" is responsible to remove all software installation records for a CI when the install status is retired/stolen. Could you please check the rule and ensure the status is active.
Otherwise, as @SrinivasRamanu1 already mentioned, if the discovery date is more recent than the retirement date, then your retirement process is not complete and needs to be reviewed.
Best, Dennis

Hi Sonakshi,
We had this similar issue where all retired servers/computers were getting reconciled and showing license consumption. I would suggest you to check operational status of such servers and ensure that they are set as "Retired". CI's with Install status as "retired" and operational status as "retired" will be excluded from reconciliation and won't consume any licenses. I hope this helps.
