Hi @community

I have recenlty Integrated with OKTA in Service now SAM Workspace following the document https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bundle/zurich-it-asset-management/page/product/software-asset-manage.... but just curious to know whether it is possible to show the compilance of this date in SAM workspace the way we can see it for other publishers like Microsoft, Adobe etc.

if anyone knows whether it is possible to do or not, will be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Prakash Singh

Hi Prakash,

Short answer: not in the same way as Microsoft or Adobe.

The Okta integration in SAM Workspace is mainly for SaaS/SSO usage visibility who has access, usage, reclaim opportunities. Okta does not have a traditional SAM “publisher pack,” so you won’t see the same out-of-the-box compliance position dashboards that exist for Microsoft or Adobe.

You can see Okta compliance only if you are using SaaS License Management for Okta seats purchased vs assigned, and this is properly supported in newer releases Washington DC and later. On Zurich, its expected that compliance-style views are limited compared to major publishers.

So:

  • Zurich + Okta SSO integration → usage/assignments, not full publisher compliance

  • SAM Pro + SaaS License Management + newer release → limited Okta compliance visibility

Hope that helps clarify.

Hi Mathew, according to the Service now documentation, once we create sso integration profile for OKTA and publish it then a direct integration profile for okta will be created. Now after Publishing this direct integration profile might get the data in the same way as it does for Mircrosoft and Adobe. Right now i have a problem i am unable to Publish direct integration profile, for that there is a case open with Service Now support, once i get update from them, may we can achieve this compilance.

You’re correct about it. When an SSO integration profile for Okta is published, ServiceNow should create a Direct Integration Profile that can collect users and license assignments similar to Microsoft or Adobe.

Since you’re unable to publish that profile, the data extract and reconciliation into SAM can’t start yet. With a support case already open, the next step is to wait for ServiceNow to fix the publishing issue or confirm if anything is missing in your licensing/edition.

Once the profile is published and the scheduled reconciliation runs, Salesforce/Okta compliance should be achievable the same way as the other SaaS vendors.

Hi @Prakash53 ,

I dont think with OKTA integration you get the data same way as direct integration profiles, as it will not contain usage details of each application. Once you get reply from Servicenow please update this thread, i would like to know if its possible to get usage details with this integartion.
