Hi - I am using Application Portfolio Management (APM) to manage the Technology Portfolio (TPM) and the corresponding life cycle risks.
One can automate the sourcing of the TPM tables (TPM Technologies and TPM Lifecycles) by leveraging SAM Pro. In that case, Software Installation, Software Discovery Model, Software Product and Software Product Lifecycle are scanned by a scheduled job to populate the TPM tables.
I would like to use this mechanism to also discover manage open source software and/or development packages/frameworks, have them in the Software Installation table and from there, move up the SAM Pro chain until APM can use the information for its Technology Portfolio.
Is this a valid scenario?
