Microsoft Entra ID directory job stuck "In Progress" for days. Missing downloadGroupsDeltaLink

Hi all,

Our Microsoft Entra ID directory integration has a "Microsoft Entra ID - Download Groups" job that stays "In Progress" in directory_job_log for days, with no error written.

What we found

• The integration record's custom_properties has downloadUsersDeltaLink but no downloadGroupsDeltaLink. I assume this is the issue.
• sys_outbound_http_log shows about 40k groups/delta calls over roughly 3 days. All returned 200 and the skiptoken advanced on each. The last call was logged on 03-10 14:33, then nothing, and no error was recorded.
• Download Users completes normally, since it has a saved delta link.

What we did

• We ran a background script to set the stale directory_job_log record to Failed.
• After that, the other job ran, but Download Groups got stuck in In Progress again after about 2 days. So the problem repeats.

Questions

1. Which writes downloadGroupsDeltaLink to custom_properties?
2. Without that key, does every Groups run become a full download? Is a full run expected to finish at larger group counts, or is there a supported way to limit it or seed the link?
3. What is the recommended way to fix this?
