I need assistance with discovering an Apache Tomcat instance that is bundled inside a custom application, and the application is not installed through a package manager. Because of this, ServiceNow Discovery is not identifying it as installed software, even though I can see the Tomcat process running during discovery. I’ve already tried using file-based discovery, and while the Tomcat process appears under Running Processes, nothing is created in the Software Installation table, and the Tomcat application server CI is not being populated.
Has anyone successfully discovered a non‑standard Tomcat bundle (custom directory structure, started via wrapper scripts, not registered as a system service)? Any guidance, pattern adjustments, classifier examples, or documentation references would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
