Network devices having Empty Name and Serial number while discovering

Hi Team,

While running the discovery for the network devices, I encountered an issue where the serial number and name of the CI are not getting populated. I checked the probe input, and the probe is also not fetching this information from the device. However, the Model ID, Manufacturer, and Install Status are being populated correctly.

What could be the possible reasons for this issue?

Thanks
Kavin.

Hi @Kavin kumar M ,

If you are able to find the "serial number" or "name" field in probe, but as empty then it could be a due dynamic IP assignation.

If you are not at all able to find the "serial number", "name" attribute in the payload then you may need to connect with the network team and ask if those properties are configures for those particular devices, and under which name it is configured, it could be a chance they are configured under different name. Connect with your network team.

Thanks

Hi @Kavin kumar M ,

Check your input payload see if your getting the serial number and name. (if no then the issues is on the network devices owning team, The may need to configure those parameters to allow servicenow to take those info from their devices.)
