Office Component Separately Licenses Requirement Showing in License Usage

Office components such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc are appearing as separate license requirements for different Office versions in ServiceNow, even though we have active Software Assurance (SA) coverage of Office Professional Plus.

All Office components are correctly mapped to their respective software models, and each software model is also linked to the appropriate parent suite.

However, we are still unsure why these components are being flagged as separate license requirements. Please find the attached screenshots for reference.

Hi @RPhaltane ,

could you please check the suite component inference number/percentage of your suite parents. By default SAM Pro sets this value to 2/75% and thus requires the amount of 2 suite components or (older setup) the existence of 75% of the components as installed to be triggered as suite parent.

Please share a screenshot of the suite component setup of both parent models.

Best, Dennis

Hi @dreinhardt

Below is the screenshot for both parent models of MS Office 2021 suite components & inference percentage.
During more research we identified there some Mac machines which are having issue.
I'm not sure whether how to proceed on Mac machines.

Hi @RPhaltane ,

please check the following article/video about the suite components and inference percentage/number

https://www.servicenow.com/community/sam-blog/software-suite-inference-on-servicenow-sam-pro/ba-p/30...

in your case 5/7 or 3/4 software installs of the suite software models must be detected per device to be covered by this license.

Please check the SAM team about this and adjust if necessary. This could be a reason that only 1/7 software records are available and it will never coverd by this office product.

Best, Dennis
