Hi Team,
Did anyone configure Oracle and VMware publisher packs in SAMPRO? If yes, what are the steps after completing discovery of oracle and VMware?
Thanks,

Hi,
we are using the ServiceNow discovery . And even though doing discovery , the discovery is not pulling the licenses of oracle java. Is there any otherwayto pull it ?
Thanks,

Hi @snow57,
the following with focus to Oracle Java can be discovered by ITOM
- Software Installation Records (Add/Remove Programs)
- Java files as part of the ITOM File Based Discovery
- Java processes as part of ITOM Discovery Oracle Java process discovery
- Discovery Model normalization needs to checked and maybe manually adjusted
This will help to get a understanding about the technical part/inventory. Licenses needs to be imported as entitlement to get a valid license balance result.
Best, Dennis

Hi @snow57,
it depends on the product and the usage is calculated for (per user, device, usage, Processor...).
Based on software installation records for VMware products you'll get the install counts or details about CPU/Core usage. vCenter connection offers a SAM part to get more details of a vCenter (Data collected for VMware vCenter Server). For all other types of usage you've to find a source and add the data as consumption or allocation.
Best, Dennis

Hi, I am working on sam pro implementation. I need to configure Oracle, red hat and vmware publisher packs. Looking at the document, I am unable to find clear steps on the discovery part. Can you share your input as you mentioned discovery is successfully working in your post. Any document, KB article would be very helpful.
