Hey @Goody6
This message is informational rather than an error.
The important part is:
“Product Type is populated based on Exception Rules.”
In SAM, the Product Type for a Software Model/Discovery Model can be determined by the applicable Product License Exception Rules. So Not Licensable may be coming from an exception rule rather than being manually set on the model.
What I would check
- Open the related Software Product and check its Product Type.
- Check whether there is a matching Product License Exception Rule for this publisher/product/version.
- Verify the conditions in the exception rule, especially the product, edition, and version.
- Check whether automated SAM content updates are enabled for the Software Model.
- Review SAM Content Audit to see if a content update recently changed the Product Type.
The fact that the value briefly appears and then disappears on the Software Model suggests that something is recalculating or overriding the field when the form loads. I would therefore also check the browser console/network activity and any relevant Business Rules or server-side logic on the Software Model.
I would avoid manually changing the Product Type until the applicable Exception Rule is identified, otherwise a subsequent SAM content update may overwrite the value again.
