Hi, Looking for a clarification as I am unable to find it in the community posts.

What is the difference between Publisher pack integration and SAAS direct profile integration.

what is the difference between the data loaded via publisher pack integration and SAAS direct profiles

Hi @servicenow begi,

Publisher Pack:

  • "Each publisher has a set of license metrics specific to that metric group. License metrics are set in software entitlements and used for reconciliation (metric group, license metric, and software model combination)."
  • Publisher does not load any data, it is completely dependent on other data sources, such as Discovery, ACC-V, SCCM and upload of commercial data (entitlements)

SaaS Direct Integration

  • "A SaaS integration profile pulls your company's software usage information from the software vendor. This information includes a list of all users and identifies which users haven't recently used the software."
  • For a set of integration ServiceNow SAMP provides additional flows to reclaim unused subscriptions via API from the portal

Best, Dennis
