SAM Pro Reconciliation

We have a client instance that has several SaaS integrations configured. For the sake of an example, let's look at Zoom, SurveyMonkey and Jira. The system is importing several active user subscriptions and the (direct) integration profiles are all running their scheduled jobs without issue.

However, when I navigate to the License Position Report or the License Workbench, I do not see either Zoom, SurveyMonkey or Jira as a publishers in either place. Publishers like Adobe and Microsoft appear in both areas, and I'm assuming that's because they not only have SaaS integrations configured, but also have Discovery Models populated via an SCCM integration. Does it therefore mean that SaaS-only products will not factor into the reconciliation process?

Yes, we have integration profiles for all of those SaaS apps.

Having spoken with ServiceNow through a Hi ticket, it would appear that SAM Pro's License Position Report only accommodate subscription metrics if there is a local installation. If its a purely SaaS based app, it won't include any information in the report, which is disappointing.

Have you created profiles for that?

Hi Omeir,

I don't think that is the case. We have done Smartsheet integration for one of the client and there are no local installation for that software, it is SaaS application. The above scenario might come if 'ignore installs' flag is set to 'true' at Software Product level (PFB screenshot). If that flag is set true either it is SaaS application or on-premise software those products will not be shown on License position report/ License workbench.

Hope this helps! Mark it correct if it is helpful for you!

Thanks

Hello Merc,

I would pretty much need that ignore installs checkbox for SaaS and other type of software but I don't see it in the Software product form. We are currently in a Xanadu instance. Did it change since 2022? Someone said it could be in the software discovery model form now but it is not the case either.

Many thanks!
