Software Asset Skipped Files for SAMP Forms and Lists

Hello community,

During the past platform upgrades and patches I noticed that the records "Software Asset Skipped Files" for forms and list layouts represent a large part of the files and take a lot of time to check.

The cause is easily identified, any customization in the UI or for the workspace is done either in the "Default View" or the special views for the workspace. These deviate from the SAMP standard with every upgrade and are displayed as a skipped record to be reviewed.

When you customize your or a customer instance, do you try to avoid customizing the default Views, Lists and always create a new one? How do you handle the records, do you review them in detail? Once you have changed the positions or added more fields, the review via the upgrade history is very time-consuming.

Another good example is the introduction of the field "Unlimited Licenses" - either you have read the documentation carefully and added this field to your customizing, or you missed it.

Looking forward, how you handle this ...

Best, Dennis

Hi @dreinhardt

you are completely right and you already gave the answer: In my projects I always introduce a new view and force that view with view rules accordingly. All changes on the UI are then done within that new view. That way, the mentioned skipped records can be prevented.
