Software installation discovered in retired windows server

Hello,

We have a retired windows server and everytime discovery runs for that IP address, a Vcenter is being discovered and related to the Windows server. The retired CI's should not have any software installations associated with it. I did try to bring the install_status to Installed and then moved it back to retired , so the Vcenter software installation got removed. But it pops up when the discovery runs again. Can anyone please provide any insight?

Thanks,

Vennila

Hi @VennilaP , for me it looks like and issue with discovery and/or the CI retirement process. If discovery is able to scan the IP and get a result (installed software) - you should first check the discovery part (logs, payload) and verify that the mentioned IP/CI was successfully retired.

Best, Dennis

@VennilaP In addition to @dreinhardt, can you check if there are any other record/CIs using the same IP? Can you check vSphere if the particular windows server is removed completely (not offline)? Had the same issue before (but not on a server), device is set to Retired in ServiceNow (clears the software installations) but has to be removed from AD, SCCM/MECM first (before data synchs). If not, installations will still populate in ServiceNow.

Thanks,
