Hi Amit,

Have you had a chance to review the SAM White Papers in the docs.servicenow.com website? Here is the link: SAM White Papers (KB0047475).

As one white paper describes: Content Library is an aid in the normalization and identification of discovered and purchased software. A customer must opt into the service (no charge). The Content Library allows organizations to harness:

• Normalization rules to standardize software installations in ServiceNow® CMDB

• Publishers, products, product suites, and more to standardize information and eliminate many of the manual activities in the software asset management lifecycle

• Pre-built publisher part number definitions and discovery maps to automatically relate purchased software to the correct software installations

• Software Lifecycle Definitions with dates such as general availability and end of life that help identify and mitigate risk for unsupported, legacy software titles

• Processor definitions to understand correct processor names so that the appropriate processor core factors can be applied during reconciliationContent in the library is updated for customers of Software Asset Management independently of the standard ServiceNow release cycle.

There are two documents specifically explaining the Content Library and it is also mentioned throughout the remaining articles.

Hope this helps!

Victor

To be simple, content library is all the available software that ServiceNow provides to the users of ServiceNow, this is available SAM workspace, however you have to install the plugin for content library

From the Admin Menu select Application Manager and then look for Content library portal
and then Install the plugin
