Hello,

How to stop new CI getting created as unclassified hardware when Apply changes used on CI lookup rule table for existing retired and Non Operational CI's in CMDB

What is happening for Unclassified hardware CI getting created from Qualys

  1. If there is no existing CI in CMDB, then Qualys is creating unclassified hardware which is expected.
  2. When discovered item came first time from Qualys it looked into existing CI and it got matched using CI lookup rules it didn't create any new devices at that time.
  3. After some years when existing CI got retired and Non-Operational. But that CI discovered item data which is still in that discovered item table. So when system/manually runs apply CI lookup rules it will look into discovered item table and try to match with CI in CMDB based on lookup rules. As the original CI is retired, Qualys is creating new record thinking there is no record to match.
