If the incident is promoted as major incident, assignment group should check the group type

I am currently working on the requirement which wants me to add few lines of code in the business rule "Major Incident Assignment" (OOB BR),  if the incident is promoted as major incident then  I need to compare the group type, if group type is itil, then the assignment group should be - ITIL/MIM group or else it should follow the existing flow and assign MIM group .However after making those changes in the code the BR does not seems to be working incase of major incident state changes to accepted. Can you give me solution on how it will work?
