Hello experts,
I encountered this behavior but I am not sure if this is changes in Washington Version.
For both Utah and Vancouver version (based on PDI test), there is no added role for survey_reader when the itil role is added to a user. But in the Washington Version when adding itil role to user, it also adds the survey_reader role.
Vancouver Versions - adding itil role doesn't add surver_reader role
Washington Version - adding itil role added surver_reader role
Does anyone of you have any documentation regarding this changes?
Regards,
Vaine

Hello @Astik Thombare
Thanks for that insights.
Regarding the addition of the survey_reader in the itil, HI-support responded to us that it was added as a fix for a defect.
They also provided a KB article: https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sys_kb_id=bfc19f519793ad1022ae35d11153af86
Regarding this change, this didn't work well with us because in our previous settings, the survey application menu and modules have the survey_reader role. But since the itil don't have that role the survey is hidden for them. Now it is showing for them due to changes in itil role.
Is it better to remove the survey_reader in the application menu or in the roles?

Vaine

Hi @Rain Vaine ,
In Utah and Vancouver, the role does not contain ‘survey_reader,’ but in Washington, DC, I can see that it contains the ‘survey_reader’ role. So, basically, the hierarchy goes like this:
ITIL -> sn_change_write -> sn_change_read ->survey_reader
ITIL -> sn_change_write
sn_change_write -> sn_change_read
sn_change_read ->survey_reader
check ITIL section in above documentation . which shows that ITIL contains sn_change_write

Hello,
Thanks for the additional info.
I can see that hierarchy but the list of roles for our itil role record I cannot see the sn_change_write role, so i think our case is another unique case. As you can see the survey_reader role is directly in the list.

Hi @Rain Vaine ,
It depends from instance to instance or any hotfix upgrade because for my client instance I can see that ITIL contains 'survey_reader' and the instance is running on Vancouver Version. While in PDI the role contain is not present.
Thanks,
Astik
