I have put down my thoughts on how to handle Incomplete IP Identified Devices.

I would like to hear your ideas on this topic. How is your organization handling them?

You are welcome. It takes a village to raise a CMDB. Organizations must focus on completeness and correctness. For a CMDB there is no such thing as done. The goal should be continuous improvement

Thank you so much for the article. Is there also an article for handling the Unclassed Hardware?

Hi Chris - i followed the whitepaper, but my findings are quite different. I see my Rapid 7 scanner is configured with a reversion IP address lookup, and DNS server are pointing to PTR records. but still a large amount of CI grouped under this "incomplete IP address class" and unclassified hardware class. I am sure something I missing here , I need your thoughts, may be other possibilities,.
