We have a Related Articles widget and a Related Catalog Items widget displayed on our Knowledge Articles in Employee Center.
We have noticed a strange behavior:
When a user opens a Knowledge Article directly (for example through search or normal navigation), the Related Catalog Items widget is displayed correctly.
When the same Knowledge Article is opened by clicking a link in the Related Articles widget, the Related Catalog Items widget does not appear.
The article itself loads correctly, and it is the exact same article.
During our investigation we noticed that the URL generated from the Related Articles widget differs from the URL used during normal navigation:
Working URL: ?id=kb_article
Non-working URL: ?id=kb_article_view
The interesting part is that the Related Catalog Items widget is configured for the correct page and is included in the page's Included in Pages configuration. We also have page route mappings configured correctly, so at first glance everything appears to be pointing to the expected page.
Has anyone experienced a situation where navigating from a Related Articles widget changes the page context, routing, URL parameters, or widget data in a way that prevents another widget from rendering?
We suspect the difference between kb_article and kb_article_view may be affecting how the Related Catalog Items widget retrieves the article context, but we have not yet identified the root cause.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
