Hello community,
current situation: We transfer and process data* within our SAP system landscape (S/4- and BW/4HANA) as well as across borders from data suppliers and to recipients.
To run these *data services, we employ job plans with Broadcom Automic. Currently business requests a new data service by mail. Its data is filled manually into a form sheet by application team. Sheet goes back and forth between application team and operations team for clarification. Only then the latter will effectively create the job plan in Automic. Furthermore they can add the job plan manually into an existing meta job plan.
Goal: We’d like to turn this into a system-supported approach using ServiceNow products, possibly Service Portal. As first step, we would focus on the process part** UP TO where operations team takes over and creates the job plan. As a next step, we might consider automating their job plan creation where useful.
- Could this **process part be turned into a self-service for the business?
- Could this self-service be used to kick off further work flows?
The self-service should provide an on-screen form for the business end user to insert the data of the required data service in usual string/ number/ date format/ radio buttons/ cross-out fields. Help items/ text popups during the process would be helpful. The data inserted should result into stored data records.
- As these data records would be fed into Automic directly or be transferred to operations team, which data formats and interfaces are provided by Service Portal?
- Furthermore, it is possible to create mapping tables inside Service Portal, in order to automatically map a requester’s name to a subteam responsible?
- Which accessibility options does Service Portal provide (cloud/authorizations etc.)?
- Is AI support available, enabling the business end user to insert the required data in flow text form ("Hello, I need the following service..., running at night on Sundays")?
Thanks very much for your thoughts, best regards.
