Foundation Data question

Hello Team,

We are setting up new SN instance and wanted to upload Foundation data with CSDM framework in mind.

I heard that, Foundation data is all base level data such as Company, Department, Cost Center, Location, Users, Groups etc.

Is there any other data apart from above which I am missing?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hi,

The CSDM framework is for the CMDB. The foundational data you've referenced above aren't records that would go in the CMDB, necessarily. It's recommended to proceed through the guided setup (within the instance) as well as ServiceNow Now Create resources such as: https://nowlearning.service-now.com/nowcreate?_ga=2.33880871.741105968.1645542485-829290232.16413126... for this information. This will ensure you've loaded all the appropriate foundational data you need.

My bad @Allen Andreas . Thanks for clarifying.

So can you please let me know what other data might be considered as Foundation Data apart from what I have listed below?

Foundation data is all base level data such as Company, Department, Cost Center, Location, Users, Groups etc.

Am I missing anything apart from these? Please advise.

Thanks.

Hello,

I've covered that above in my response. No need to repeat your post again as I've read it. The guided setup literally covers the foundational data as well as the Now Create link/assets.
