Knowledge articles in Pending Retirement

All,

 

I need help understanding an odd situation around knowledge articles in Pending retirement.

I can still search and find the article by KB# and title in the Service Portal while the article is in this state, however, I cannot search and find this article at all in the Knowledge Portal.

 

What am I missing?  My understanding was articles are still available to search until Retired.
