Relate the Task table to the sys user has role table

I'm trying to report on the ITIL users who do not have any tasks assigned to them.

Trying to use the related list condition of "None"

How do I relate Tasks->Assigned to to the sys_user_has_role?

Thank you, @aruncr0122, this is exactly what I did after I posted the questions  🙂  The issue I was running into was that the field "Roles" on the user table had an ACL so only admins could see it.

  1. Create a new report → Table = User [sys_user].

  2. Add a filter: Roles → Name is ITIL (this pulls only ITIL users).

  3. Then add a Related List Condition:

    • Task [task] → Assigned to = None

    • This ensures you only get users who currently don’t have any tasks assigned.

If “None” doesn’t work directly, another approach is:

  • From User table, add condition → Assigned to (Task) does not have records.

  • That way it excludes any user who has at least one task.

If you need it more flexible (like showing all ITIL users and count of their tasks), you can also use a dot-walked report:

  • Table = Task

  • Group by Assigned to

  • Then filter only ITIL role users via Assigned to → Roles contains ITIL.

  • Anyone missing from this report = ITIL with no tasks.

@bekfro ,

you can utilize a combination of the sys_user_has_role and task tables..... Begin by creating a report based on the sys_user table..... Apply filters to include only active users who possess the ITIL role, which can be determined by referencing the sys_user_has_role table..... Next, configure a related list condition for the Assigned to field in the task table, setting the quantity to None to filter users who do not have any tasks assigned....
