How to Create and Add Dashboards in the Overview Dashboard of Service Operational Workspace?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working with the Service Operational Workspace in ServiceNow and want to
customize the Overview Dashboard. However, I'm not sure how to create a new
dashboard or add existing dashboards/widgets to the Overview Dashboard.

Can someone please guide me on:

. The exact steps to create and add dashboards within the Overview Dashboard?
. How to add widgets or reports to these dashboards?
. Any tips or best practices for managing dashboards in Service Operational Workspace?

I appreciate any help or documentation links!

Thanks in advance!

I did this very thing this week! This is what I did.

First, create the dashboard. Mine had two tabs, first tab with three donuts and two counts, the second with three donuts. Works fine as a dashboard. Make sure that under Information, you add Service Operations Workspace into the Dashboard Visibility section:

Then you need to set up the SOW to use it. What I did here was to open the SOW in the UI builder (make sure you change scope) and create a new variant of the Landing Page. Find the one that says PAR and click the ellipsis:

And duplicate the variant:

Now you can edit that screen. Select the dashboard element:

And change the default dashboard to the one you just created:

Boom..  you should be done. Then if you change the dashboard the landing page automatically updates.

Both changes can be captured into update sets for easy migration between instances.

Hope this helps!
