Now Assist Center: Conversational AI Setup and Help for Admins

Minimum Version: Australia Patch 2 / Zurich Patch 9 Feature: Now Assist Center Roles Required: admin

Overview

If you've been managing Now Assist and AI Agents on the platform for a while, you know the drill: activate a skill here, tweak a Guardian setting there, track down a model config somewhere else. It works, but it's not exactly a streamlined experience.

Now Assist Center is the fix for that. After several months in the innovation lab, it's now generally available as of Australia Patch 2 (or Zurich Patch 9). It brings your AI administration into a single workspace and adds two new capabilities that make AI setup significantly faster: a conversational panel for admin help and configuration, and actionable use cases cards on the workspace that surface the right actions for your instance without you having to hunt for them.

💡 Version note: You need Australia Patch 2 or Zurich Patch 9 to access the GA version of Now Assist Center. If you're on an earlier patch, you may see an older innovation lab version instead.

One Workspace for All Your AI Administration

Now Assist Center consolidates the configuration, monitoring, and management of Now Assist skills and AI Agents into a single workspace. Rather than navigating to separate admin pages, plugin records, or system properties to stand up an AI capability, these interfaces can be accessed from here.

The workspace covers skill activation, Guardian settings, model configurations, multilingual service, data sharing, integrations, performance monitoring, and more.

The Now Assist Panel: Ask It, Configure It, Done

The Now Assist Panel is now pinned to the right side of the workspace. It's accessible from every page in Now Assist Center, so you don't have to leave what you're looking at to get help or kick off a configuration task. You interact with it in plain language. Describe what you want to do, and it figures out the steps. Before anything actually changes on your instance, it asks for your confirmation.

Here's what it can do:

Guided setup

Tell it you want to configure a skill, set up Guardian, adjust model settings, or change data sharing preferences, and it walks you through the steps. It executes on your behalf after you confirm each change.

Skill activation and deactivation

Turn skills on or off through conversation. It shows you the current state and skill details before asking you to confirm.

Instance queries

Ask about your current configuration: which languages are enabled, what model provider is in use, what integrations are active, and it tells you.

Documentation help

Ask questions about Now Assist features, concepts, or admin tasks. It pulls from product docs and training resources and returns answers with links to the source material.

💡 Required: The Now Assist panel must be enabled before you can use it or any of the actionable use cases below. See the Enable the Now Assist panel documentation for setup steps.

Actionable Use Cases: The Platform Tells You What to Set Up Next

The Now Assist Center workspace now shows a set of cards called actionable use cases. Each card is a ready-to-activate AI solution, tailored to what's actually available on your instance.

These aren't generic suggestions. The platform looks at your license entitlements, installed products, current AI enablement state, and instance profile to decide which cards to show and in what order. You only see cards for things you're entitled to and haven't set up yet.

Examples of what might show up

The cards vary by instance, but you might see things like:

Let's get you set up — install essential Now Assist plugins
Incident summarization for ITSM
Chat summarization for ITSM
KB generation for ITSM
Resolution notes generation for ITSM
Case summarization for CSM
Chat summarization for CSM
KB generation for CSM
Resolution notes generation for CSM

Activating a use case:

  1. Select Activate on any card to open a guided setup conversation in the Now Assist panel.
  2. The panel walks you through the configuration, confirms the current state, and waits for your go-ahead before making any change.
  3. Once activated, the card moves out of the home page and appears in the Recently activated AI section, where you can monitor its performance.
💡 Heads up: Dismissed use case cards do not reappear. If you accidentally dismiss one, you can still set up the capability manually through the workspace — but the shortcut won't come back.

Getting Started

If you're on Australia Patch 2 or Zurich Patch 9, here's how to get going:

  1. Enable the Now Assist panel. This is required before conversational setup and actionable use cases will work. Find the instructions in the Enable the Now Assist panel documentation.
  2. Open Now Assist Center. The home page will show use case cards based on your instance's entitlements and setup state.
  3. Activate or explore. Select Activate on a card to start a guided setup conversation, or open the panel directly to ask a question or configure something.

Wrapping Up 🎉

Now Assist Center is designed as a single coherent place to manage all of your AI administration. The conversational panel means less time navigating and more time actually getting things configured, and the actionable use cases take the guesswork out of knowing what to set up next in order to deliver quick wins for your AI implementations.
