With the Now Platform and App Engine, anyone can digitize and automate departmental and cross-enterprise workflows, optimize business processes for resiliency, and mitigate risk, all on one cloud-based platform. In Paris we continue to refine and add upon these benefits with key feature updates and new capabilities. |
Process Automation Designer
We are excited to introduce Process Automation Designer which enables business process owners to manage complex cross-enterprise workflows by creating no-code processes. Quickly connect multiple workflows, systems, and actions into a single end-to-end to process without code.
Built on top of and powered by Flow Designer -- Process Automation Designer provides those closest to business processes, often line of business users and process owners without a technical background, a consumer-grade builder experience to compose end-to-end cross-functional workflows. Create workflows through combining discrete workflow actions built by low-code developers in Flow Designer and IntegrationHub via a drag-and-drop interface. This helps improve line of business productivity and enable automation at an enterprise scale. In summary the benefits of Process Automation Designer are:
- Powering rapid automation for cross enterprise workflows
- Better reuse of workflows created in Flow Designer
- Delivering workflows faster by empowering business users
Process Automation Designer is not a replacement for Flow Designer, rather a workflow builder built specifically for business users to easily create workflows and reuse/combine flows created in Flow Designer

Playbook Experience
For end-to-end processes created in Process Automation Designer to be acted upon by knowledge workers and agents, Playbook Experience provides an intuitive user experience to get work done. Agents no longer need to scan form fields, multiple related lists, and notes to determine next best steps or where they sit within a given process. Now, agents have high-level visibility into cross-business playbooks presented with a simple, actionable view of the associated tasks and next steps.
The best part is Playbook Experience is about your experience! Tailor your view with configurations, integrations with Workspace, and custom actions to control all aspects of your experience.

IntegrationHub Enhancements
Paris delivers improved integration connection functionality and management to better accelerate integration and automation with external systems for both IT and the business. And the library of codeless connectors, called Spokes, in the ServiceNow Store continues to grow, empowering everyone including no-code process analysts to easily extend digital workflows to 3rd party services. Over 100 spokes with deep integration functionality in over 2,000 integration actions are available as of Paris market launch.
The new connection management dashboard provides a simplified way to manage and configure the Spokes on your instance. Add new connections, edit existing connections, and view connection details all within a single view.
Within the new connection management dashboard, easily connect to multiple accounts of a 3rd-party system with new support for several connections to a single integration provider, for example you can establish connections to several different Jira environments. Select connections for flows, sub-flows, and actions directly from a flow, and when it’s ready for production, reestablish a connection to each account without needing to modify the flow.
See the IntegrationHub release notes for more detail.

Flow Designer Enhancements
There are several enhancements to Flow Designer in Paris to safely bring workflow building to business process owners as well as provide greater flow customizations and enhanced catalog support.
Run with flow enables controlled access during flow execution; important for secure and sensitive records or integrations. This persona based access provides a granular approach to role based controls if needed in your use case. For example, an HR Analyst can have access to run a single HR related flow without granting them flow_designer or admin level access to all flows.
In keeping on similar lines, Flow Designer now features greater content filtering based on a user role. Display only relevant flow components (ex. triggers, actions, and sub-flows) while hiding other content that is unnecessary or sensitive. For example, if an HR Manager is creating a flow, an admin can configure their view so only the set of actions and sub-flows that are relevant to HR cases appear.
For more information on additional Flow Designer enhancements like sending text messages from a flow or greater catalog support, see Flow Designer release notes.

Source Control Enhancements
With every release we continue to iterate and improve upon the Now Platform developer experience. And in Paris we are introducing, among other changes, a much requested enhancement to Source Control, enabling global scope. Developers will now be able to leverage the Source Control features we released in Orlando for apps in global scope as well as scoped apps.
Delta or incremental loading is now supported for custom applications in Source Control, which enables developers to "Apply Remote Changes" without losing data by applying only the delta of changes for individual files and thereby retaining data associated with the application.
Be sure to follow our Developer channels including the Blog and Community for more information.

Analytics Center
Analytics Center is the next generation of Analytics Hub – and is available on any Workspace. Here, you not only get a single exploratory view of your indicators on the KPI Details page, but you can also get answers to questions about your data using Analytics Q&A.
Now generally available after a limited release in Orlando, Analytics Q&A lets users ask questions about indicator performance using natural language and returns the answer in the most appropriate visualization – list, trend, single score, or chart.
Analytics Center also includes KPI Signals, a new feature that proactively detects significant variations in indicator behavior and alerts the user to potential issues. This reduces time and manual effort by identifying potentially disruptive patterns that could impact service delivery.
Analytics Center is a one stop shop that surfaces insights and answers questions to keep you focused on what matters most.
