Adding dark mode to a theme

Menu and button color

When my companies ServiceNow instance was put together with the help of the ServiceNow implementation partners a custom theme was put in using company colors and branding. I was recently given the ask to enable Dark Mode for IT. I am trying to configure dark mode however some of the text namely submit/update buttons and the menu text is unreadable.

The buttons get darker but the text either doesn’t change or gets darker as well so you can’t read what each button says. The menus stay white and the text gets lighter while you can still kind of read it, it’s hard to tell for some people what the options are. If you search for something in the All Menu the text looks fine but when the menu is first pulled up you can’t read it

The screenshots show what my menu and buttons look like

Hi @Dr Atul G- LNG ,

This helped and I was able to figure out the settings. However I am still seeing an issue with some of my buttons. Based on my investigation these should be now button secondary everywhere else the buttons look fine but as you can see in the screenshot buttons in the Shared Admin Dashboard on my home screen and similar buttons in the Service Operations Workspace do not seem to be picking up the new color

Hi @menardJA

I noticed that for OOTB dashboards, worskpaces and so on, there're no styling issue within the Dark theme. The "information" icon in the middle of a box within a dashboard, list views, form views, etc. are displaying just fine. However, for custom dashboards, worskpaces, etc. there seems to be an issue with the the Dark theme styling. Some "information" icon in the middle of a box within a dashboard may be diisplayed with a dark colour which is not easily visible for the eye.

Hi @Dr Atul G- LNG

I tried the steps listed there before posting. These also aren’t custom dashboards or Workspaces, it’s the native Shared Admin Dashboard on Xanadu and the native Service Operations Workspace.
