Adding the Activity Formatter to a custom table's form view

Does anybody know why I wouldn't have the option to add the Activity Formatter to a custom table's form view? I'm doing this in a new environment, but I set it up a couple of years ago in a different environment (and still have it working there today).

I set the table to be audited in the new environment (per Activity Formatter - ServiceNow Wiki), and I don't remember having to take any additional steps in the old environment before I was able to add the formatter.

Did you try below steps mentioned in the wiki?

Creating an Activity Formatter

Administrators can create an activity formatter for any audited table.

  1. Navigate to System UI > Formatters.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter a name for the formatter, such as Activities (New Table name).
  4. Select a Table.
  5. Enter activity.xml in the Formatter field.
  6. Leave the Type as Formatter.
  7. Click Submit.
  8. Open the form on which the new formatter should appear.
  9. Right-click the form header and select Personalize > Form Layout, and then add the new formatter to the form.

Wow, I really should read the entire page next time. Thanks, Bhavesh! (I struggled a bit while posting this, so it didn't end up being marked as a question, but your response would definitely be marked as the answer.)

Recently ran into this, and indeed the activities formatter was missing from the table (so I didn't actually need to create a new one). Only thing to note is that activities and post button do not immediately show up. Cache.do did not resolve issue. I actually needed to log out of ServiceNow and back in, then everything appeared as it should. This occurred on two separate tables and on the first one we didn't think it worked until it magically showed up after the weekend.
