Affected CI Related List- Use Same Reference Qual as CI Field?

We have added the AFFECTED CI tab to our change request form. The CM team is complaining however about using it, as they have to click ADD and then have to specify the CI CLASS. For all of our CONFIGURATION ITEM fields, we use a reference qualifier to search across the classes for our CIs. How can I get the related list to work in this same way, instead of the window to pick a class and a new window to then pick the CI?

Go to any open change record that has at least one affected CI listed. Open that affected CI and you'll arrive at the task_ci record. Right click on the Configuration Item label and Configure Dictionary and that should get you to the sys dictionary for that CI where you can then add your simple reference qualifier conditions.
